Should've specified this was after I checked in with the player and the NPC doing the kidnapping was already spoken for in a different thread. So without that as a guaranteed interruption, I'd opted for not being able to find him. No issue with the player, just didn't want to throw a bigger wall of text here than I already had!
Have you checked in with the player about your desire to retcon Mahito being assigned that character's name? That's what we're asking you to sort out plot-wise with them directly, because it would also mean they would need to handwave a retcon of who had their character's name.
